I am there

This poem first came to me circa 1994 as a song I made up in the shower.  It was never quite finished, but stayed with me. It seems to me to be a lament, or perhaps a gift from the departed.

Like a breeze through a willow by a sleepy brook

I will gently caress you

Like the soft sun in Spring

I’ll bathe you in love and warmth

Like the moon when it’s full

I’ll light your way

I will never leave you

I will always be there

I’m the breeze across your face,

I’m the warm sun on your back

I’ll light your way

I am there
