’Twas time, and ye sleight of hand
Did gyre and gimble with ye weak;
All mimsy was ye command,
But ye mome sods shriek.
“Beware ye Whatabout, my daughter!
Ye jaws that bite, ye claws that catch!
Beware ye Jubjub bird, and slaughter
Ye frumious Bandersnatch!”
She took her vorpal sword in hand:
Long time ye manxome foe she sought—
So rested she by ye Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood,
Ye Whatabout, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through ye tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
Ye vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
She left it dead, and with its head
She went galumphing back.
“And hast thou slain ye Whatabout?
Come to my arms, with beamish Joy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
She chortled in her ploy.
’Twas time, and ye sleight of hand
Did gyre and gimble with ye weak;
All mimsy was ye command,
But ye mome sods shriek.
