Birth Cartographer Training
Mastering effective communication in maternity services is the key to improving outcomes and experiences. The Birth Map study revealed the three interconnected tenets that make up effective communication and the barriers within services that affect women’s ability to feel informed. Birth Cartography Training has been developed based on these tenets, providing care providers with the resources they need to overcome these barriers and provide the individualised and respectful care they are aiming for.
This comprehensive training is for those birth workers and health professionals looking to enhance communication and support the decision making process with their clients in birth and beyond. Using the three tenets, you will develop a deeper understanding of:
- How information is processed and can be understood differently for different people
- How decisions are made, and why people draw different conclusions
- How to implement compassionate care, even in a fragmented system
- How to use The Game of Birth to support your clients sensemaking

Explore the importance of language, discover The Game of Birth and develop your skills to facilitate communication and support maternal decision making in maternity care.
