Wisdom of the Monkey

Wise old monkey, tell me more

Of the monkey tree.

Wise old monkey, share your lore

With hairless apes like me.

“Those up high gaze down” she spoke

“To see the smiling souls,

Those below gaze up with hope,

But only see arseholes.”

This much I’d heard,  it was well known

black chimpanzee smiling

But wise old was not yet finished

She continued her tale in hushed tone,

Her words were not diminished.

“Monkeys can swing from limb to limb

They can hang face down

Each monkey moves with a whim

And faces can frown,

Up high or below is just the start

All monkeys are able

To behave with choice of heart,

Here ends my fable.”
