You shall be grateful…

So, anyhoo, the exemptions for private midwives has been extended…again…

and apparently this is call for celebration.

So whilst this means that some women will be able to access private midwifery services, most won’t.  The lack of insurance in an insurance-centred birthing climate means fewer midwives are offering private services.  Unnecessarily tight regulations mean that instead of focusing on Informed Decisions with personalised and evidence based care, women are being robbed of options based on someone else’s bias determination of ‘risk’.

Despite the copious amounts of evidence (go on…check it out!)
